INTERNATIONAL Women's Day saw a major event in Lochgelly which contained a whole host of activities.

Lochgelly Woman's Social Group organised and played host to the day celebrate International Woman's Day with funding from the 4 Winds Trust Little Raith Community Fund.

The event took place in Lochgelly Salvation Army Hall where a large group of ladies of all ages engaged in various activities. The morning kicked of with the local Community Safety Officer and Crime Prevention specialist PC Fraser Laird giving an informative talk on safety in the home and how to be alert to various scams.

After refreshments the ladies sampled various workshops ie Flower arranging, Card making and Beauty Therapy treatments.

Social Group secretary, Christina McGrath, said: "A 3 course lunch was enjoyed by the ladies, who then relaxed and interacted in an afternoon of musical activities. A good day was had by all".
