CHRISTMAS was a fantastically busy time for staff at Lochgelly Library with children making a massive impact.

Library supervisor, Ann Belton, and her team put together a whole package of events which went down really well with the younger element.

Things kicked-off last Tuesday when the P4 to P7 choir of St Patrick's Primary School gave an impromptu concert at the library in the Lochgelly Centre.

It was an event which attracted a big crowd of onlookers who were delighted with the efforts of the young singers whose seasonal sounds were warmly applauded.

Then on Thursday afternoon the Christmas Crafts session at the library saw youngsters range in ages from three to 10 tackle making Sock Snowmen.

With a little bit of advice from several coaches the children produced a series of excellent Snowmen much to the creators' delight.

Said Ann, who is leaving Lochgelly Library to join the service in Kirkcaldy at the beginning of the year: "The performance by the St Patrick's Primary singers was something which was very good and it got our Christmas week off to a great start.

"The Sock Snowmen creators also showed some excellent skills so it was an activity that proved a real success."
