THIS week's last Down Memory Lane collection of 2017 comes from George Guthrie, of Denfield Gardens, Dundonald.

He said: "I was looking through some auld photos and came on these ones, maybe the Times would like them for ‘Doon Memory Lane’. The first wan is of the auld bus station in Auchterderran Road, Lochgelly, taken in 1985; the second one is a close up o’ the office door, I think the date is 1933 and the name is Simpsons & Forresters.

"The third is of the auld railway tunnel under the road at Lumphinnans. We got the job of filling it up as it was about tae cave-in. That was in the summer of 1988. The fourth photo is in the tunnel while we were filling it, as you can see it was full o’ reek off the machine. The pipes up the side were blawin in fresh air so we could breath but the reek did nae half make 'oor 'een nip. I hope these might be o’ some interest tae your readers."

If you have a an old photograph you would like to see in our Down Memory Lane feature send it to editorial@centralfifetimes.co.uk or take it to the Times Office on a Monday or a Thursday.
