LOCHGELLY Community Council is keen to attract a new member after losing a stalwart.

There is a vacancy for a Community Councillor following the Davie Hempseed’s decision to stand down.

Stevie Murray, secretary said: “Davie has been the longest serving member of the Community Council.

"He is very popular character, not only in the Community Council but across the town.

“Davie has supported many groups over the years and will be sorely missed.

"Like many good Community Councillors, he wasn’t always on facebook or creating his own blog to tell people what he was doing, but what he did was to work hard for Lochgelly and that is a quality that should be recognised.”

Davie, from Auchterderran Road, worked for the Plotholders in Lochgelly, having been one himself for many years, latterly working one at the plots off Lumphinnans Road.
