A MAN who assaulted a male in Lochgelly has been ordered to pay £350 in compensation.

Waldemar Jakubowski was also sentenced with 150 hours of unpaid work when he appeared in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Wednesday alongside an interpreter.

The 30 year-old, of Leslie Street, Kirkcaldy, was found guilty at trial on September 21.

The charges against him were that on April 14, at Grainger Street, Lochgelly, he did assault a male and headbutt him on the head and punch him on the head to his injury.

He did steal a set of keys and did behave in a threatening or abusive manner which was likely to cause a reasonable person to suffer fear or alarm in that he did repeatedly shout and swear, repeatedly kick a door and act in a aggressive manner.

Defence solicitor, Ms Hill, said: "Mr Jakubowski has complied fully with proceedings and remains at the position he presented at trial.

"He is self-employed and has a previous sentence for a road traffic offence."
