THE head of music at Lochgelly High School is on the search for pipers who came through the LHS production line.

The school will celebrate its 30th anniversary next month and is keen to have as many of the former pipers involved in the celebrations as possible.

Principal teacher of music, Mandy Miller said this week: "As people may have seen in the local media, Lochgelly High School is celebrating its 30th year in 2017.

"To mark this we are holding a 24 hour Game-A-Thon, involving our entire school and many members of the local community. This is a huge event for us and we are aiming to incorporate as much of our community as possible.

"This exciting celebration will come to a climax when a massed pipe band procession, made up of as many former members of the school band, makes its way on a short route starting at Lochgelly High School, showing our community our pride, strength and musical talent!

"It is in that spirit of pride that I ask for as many of you as possible, with links, past and present to Lochgelly High School Pipe Band to join me in our celebratory parade. This will take place on Saturday August 19. "
