THIS week's Down Memory Lane pictures come from the collection of Lochgelly business man Alan Graham and look at one of the reasons why the town gained the Most Improved accolade last November.

The former Queen's Arms area on Main Street was an area which gave way to the new town square at The Cross.

Alan's pictures show work taking place to create what has the Miner's statue near the former Institute and it made a real difference to the Bank Street, Main Street part of the town.

If you have any old pictures you would like to see in our Down Memory Lane page send them to editorial@centralfifetimes.co.uk or take them to the Times Office, Bank Street, on a Monday or a Friday.
