LOCHGELLY and District Amateur Musical Association's annual production this year is the brilliant musical comedy Mack and Mabel.

The Jerry Herman score is probably best known for the selection of music dances on ice by Torvill and Dean when they won the European and World Championships before switching to the Bolero for the Winter Olympics.

Mack Sennett was the best director ever of Silent movies with Mabel Normand his famous leading lady.

Mack's films were mostly based on slapstick comedy which included Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton and the Keystone Cops.

The music, dancing and comedy are the equal of any of Lochgelly's previous shows.

LADAMA president Bill Paul said: "A night at a this show will relieve people of the present drudgery of elections, referendums etc, which currently dominate the media.

"As Mack Sennett comments in the show, 'I want to make people laugh'.

Tickets are available from co-ordinator Joyce Goodall on 01592 780723, the Lochgelly Centre or any members of the company."

The show opens on Wednesday May 31 and runs to Saturday June 3 including a Saturday matinee.
