THE winners of the 2017 Fife Business Awards were announced to over 300 guests at Friday night's annual awards ceremony and two Central Fife companies were among the winners.

Held at the Rothes Halls, the ceremony was a fantastic celebration of the success, diversity and innovation that can be found throughout the Fife business community.

And among the success stories were Peeltech, part of the Ivan Wood and Sons organisation from Ballingry; and Lochgelly's Realm Construction.

Realm, from Cartmore Industrial Estate, won the 'Developing the Young Workforce' award, while Peeltech collected the 'Success through Innovation' gong.

Realm are strong believers in developing young talent while Peeltech has been established by Malcolm Wood and his equipment, which removes purifies wastewater from the production of potato products, is continuing to lead the way in environmental fields.

Said Malcolm: "It was absolutely amazing to win this award.

"We are trying hard to continue to improve our product and this is a great boost to everyone at Peeltech".

The awards were hosted by popular TV and radio presenter Grant Stott and guests enjoyed entertainment from performer Edward Reid, who was a Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist in 2011.

Fife Chamber of Commerce President, Peter Southcott, said: “As a key event in the Fife business community calendar, year on year Fife Chamber looks forward to celebrating the category winners and their tremendous achievements.

“The winners really do showcase the best of Fife’s thriving business sector. It is also important to recognise the efforts and achievements of the wider short-listed finalists, and indeed, all the firms which entered the awards.

“We were pleased to welcome a diverse range of guests, with attendees from sectors such as manufacturing, electronics, tourism, financial services and food and drink all attending, as well as businesses of all sizes, and from all around the Kingdom – highlighting the breadth of businesses successfully operating and succeeding in Fife.

“The Fife Business Awards would not have been possible without the support of our sponsors and I would like to thank them for their commitment to this annual event. We look forward to the 2017 applications!”

A raffle on the night raised over £2500 for Fife Chamber’s chosen beneficiary charities, Fife Alcohol Support and Worldwide Cancer Research.
