A LOCHGELLY man was caught out by police when he came to their attention after a routine patrol.

Casey Japp, who has been remanded in custody for a separate incident, assaulted a police officer and made threats when he was asked to calm down in a argument.

Japp, 26, of Main Street, Lochgelly, previously admitted that on October 14, 2016, at Russell Street, Lochgelly, he did behave in a threatening or abusive manner which was likely to cause a reasonable person to suffer fear and alarm in that he did shout, swear, act in an aggressive manner, utter abusive remarks, utter homophobic remarks and utter threats of violence. He also admitted to assaulting a constable, then in the execution of his duty, and did kick him on the body.

Depute fiscal, Alastair Shaw, told Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Wednesday, that police were attending the address for an unrelated matter when they encountered Japp having an argument with two females. He referred to the police officers with an abusive remark and when he was requested to leave the scene, he continued to shout and swear.

He is also threatened to 'bit the nose off a male police officer' and continued to make abusive remarks.

Japp was sentenced to four months imprisonment.
