THE Learning Differently Theatre, at Lochgelly Centre, is a new group for young adults with additional support needs in the local area.

Led by Suit and Pace, the former Lochgelly based theatre company now in Kirkcaldy, the group meets every Tuesday from 4.30pm to 6pm at the Lochgelly Centre.

The project is funded by Awards for All (the Big Lottery).

Beath Hamilton-Cardus, of Suite and Pace, explained how the LDT works: "The group are working on comedy sketches and short films, aiming to educate local people about the reality of having a disability.

"We also help group members to acquire new creative skills, e.g. performing, filmmaking, and to gain confidence."

Beth and Andrew, from Suit and Pace, are really enjoying running the group, added Beth: "We love having the opportunity to pass on some of the skills we've acquired over the years, and it's great to see everyone getting up and having a go, they're a really talented bunch.

"We've just finished making a filmed advert for the group - this was launched on www.facebook.com/suitandpace on Thursday. The group created an advert to try to encourage other people to attend the group, so please have a look if you or someone you know might be interested in getting involved.

"If you live in the local area and fancy coming along, please get in touch by emailing andrew@suitandpace.com, or contacting us through Facebook".

Leeanne Clark, who is a member of Learning Differently Theatre, said: "The group's friendly, we have a laugh - come along and join in the fun!"
