STRUGGLING with police led to Lochgelly man Michael Wilson being placed on a restriction of liberty order this week.

Appearing for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Wednesday, Wilson (30), of South Street, had earlier admitted resisting, obstructing or hindering two police officers in execution of their duty and struggling violently with them at his home on 8th October last year.

He also, at South Street and at Dunfermline Police Station, behaved in a threatening or abusive manner which was likely to cause a reasonable person to suffer fear or alarm by shouting, swearing, uttering abusive remarks and threatening police officers.

Defence solicitor, Alexander Flett, said it was an incident which should not have happened.

"Police were contacted after a relatively minor fall out between Mr Wilson and his partner and thereafter, he accepts he behaved in a manner in which he should not have."

Sheriff Craig McSherry placed Wilson on a restriction of liberty order for five months.
