FIFE People's Assembly, through The People’s Assembly Scotland, are screening the highly-acclaimed film 'I Daniel Blake' at Lochgelly Centre on Wednesday February 22.

This film clearly depicts the harsh realities of the Welfare system and the impact and consequences that sanctions have on claimants. It has been acclaimed as a masterpiece of social commentary, and a true reflection of the cruelty inflicted on some of the most vulnerable people in our society.

Admission is free, but FPA are asking for people to bring a donation for the local foodbanks. Tickets can be booked on Eventbrite to ensure that seat allocations are sorted https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/i-daniel-blake-tickets-31527822566?aff=es2

There will also be a couple of speakers and a discussion after the screening.

Ballingry man Tam Kirby said: "The brilliant people at Fife Cultural Trust have moved the screening into the main auditorium at Lochgelly Centre for us, due to the nature of the film, the foodbank donations and because demand has already outstripped our original booking. We can't thank them enough for doing this. To say we are over the moon is an understatement, everyone really needs to see this film”.
