THE efforts of the Lochgelly High pupils in helping get three year-old Ava Stark get a stem cell transplant have been warmly recognised by the little girl's family.
On Friday 11 and Saturday November 12, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, in partnership with the Anthony Nolan Trust, attended Lochgelly High School for this worthy cause.
There was a massive response from the local community and a record number of donors between the age of 16 and 30 years signed up to support this charity.
The Fire Service who led the cause were full of praise for LHS helpers Emma Bell, Jena Cartledge, Kelsey Crowe, Cerys Jamieson, Cassie McKenna, Emma Rosocki and Adele Thomson.
Ava has now had her transplant and is recovering well.
