LOCHGELLY children had a great time on Friday night at a special event held in Torleys.

The photographs were taken at the fun event are held by the The spirit of Lochgelly community group.

The event was free everyone thanks to the fundraising done by the volunteers of Spirit of Lochgelly.

Said Spirit of Lochgelly's Karen Yeoman: "All the kids had a ball and left with smiles on their faces all down to Kenny the Klown."

Kenny the Klown managed to put on three hours of entertainment, with a disco, numerous character visits, plate spinning and jokes.

Added Karen: "You name it he did it. The children really take to Kenny's fun ideas and have real fun."

The group would like to thank Coreen Laws and Torleys for allowing Spirit of Lochgelly to hold their parties there and being so kind as to wave the hall charge.

But Karen added: "We have also a big vote of thanks to extend to the mums mums and dads who came along with their kids on Friday and the children who all behaved so well".

This is one of several events the Spirit of Lochgelly group has organised for 2016.

This is only the second year the group has been running but already they have provided an awful lot of fun for children in the town.

Last year they held a big summer family day which proved to be a massive hit along with with other smaller events and this year this is their third venture.

But they have a more to come with a special Hallowe'en event. It will be held on October 30 and there are still tickets available.

But it is not only children who benefit from the Spirit of Lochgelly's community events.

The residents of the Jenny Gray Residential Home in the town had a great Christmas party thanks to support from the group.

The Spirit of Lochgelly is run solely by volunteers, and they would welcome more people to become involved.

Added Karen: "We are determined to keep Lochgelly's community spirit going and would like to have more people helping us raise funds and organise events.

"If anyone would like to be part of the group then please contact our Facebook page."

It is a case of the more the merrier for the Spirit group and anyone who looked in at Torleys on Friday would see what their efforts mean to the children of the town.

Remember there are tickets left for the Halloween event on October 30 at just £2.50 each contact the Spirit Facebook page for further details.
