RAEBURN Construction Services Ltd, a civils groundwork company is celebrating 10 years in business, and they are currently involved in a Lochgelly project.

Launched in 2006 originally offering site engineering services, the company has grown during difficult market times and has expanded its offering to the full range of civil groundworks and they recently were awarded Investors in young People.

Working alongside main contractors and local authorities the company has grown steadily and now employs 60 employees across Fife and Edinburgh.

The company has been working closely with Fife Council in particular over the last 18 months supporting its Affortable Housing programme, having now supported the delivery of 155 new homes across Thornton, Lochgelly and projects in Kircaldy where they are based.

The company is committed to providing employment, developing its workforce and delivering benefits to the communities in which it is working.

The award of the Investors in Young People Accreditation has been a recent achievement, the only people management standard that focuses on an employer’s recruitment and retention of young people. This represents a true commitment to the training and development of young people and demonstrates Raeburn Construction as an employer of choice for young people. This is recognition of both the recent apprenticeship programme that the company introduced last year, and the recruitment and support provided to employees under the age of 28.

Having now achieved the accreditation, Raeburn Construction Services Ltd is now eligible to use and display the Investors in Young People logo and plaque, and enjoy its benefits.

Commenting on the award, Scott Raeburn, Director said, “ We are delighted to receive this award. The company recognises that in order to build a workforce of the future, how we attract, retain and develop young people to our company is key.”

Sarah Raeburn, fellow Director added, “Our apprenticeship programme is new and still developing, but to receive this accreditation shows that we have the foundations in place to build on this going forward."
