KELTY Library had some rather unusual visitors, including lizards, snakes, rats and cockroaches! This was a special event, organised by Fife Cultural Trust, to celebrate this year’s Tesco Bank Summer Reading Challenge, hosted by Zoolab. The event was a sell out and attracted 40 children, who were accompanied by 16 brave parents, who were given the opportunity to handle these amazing creatures and learn about their Record Breaking antics, to fit in with this year’s Summer Reading Challenge theme.
Dolina Stein, Library Assistant said, “This was a wonderful event. The children loved handling all the different animals and were much braver than me and some of their parents, I can assure you! I think the lizard was certainly the favourite.
“Events like these are great and have really helped make the Summer Reading Challenge another huge success this year”.
Youngsters still have the chance to take part in this year’s Summer Reading Challenge. Just pop into any Fife Library and sign up, read your six books before 31st August and collect fantastic prizes along the way.
