A NEW baby is always a happy occasion – and there were double celebrations for one Kelty family as they celebrated the birth of a little girl last month.

The arrival of wee Lacey-Mae Buller marked the fifth generation of females in the family, with nearly nine decades separating her and her great-great-gran Elizabeth McBain.

Matriarch Elizabeth (87) is mum to Catherine White (60), who in turn is mother to Louise Buller (38).

And the whole family were “over the moon” when Louise’s daughter Kimberley-Louise (18), of Oakfield Street, had Lacey-Mae on 17th June.

New gran Louise, of Blackhall Road, beamed, “We’re a close-knit family – Kimberley lives within walking distance of us and we’re only a 10-minute drive from my parents and gran in Kinross.

“We’re helping to look after Lacey at the moment. It’s really quite special – I just wish my granddad had been able to see it but he passed away about 11 years ago.

“My gran keeps saying, ‘I can’t believe I’ve lived to see my great-great-granddaughter.’ “My mum is over the moon, absolutely ecstatic. She’s a granny, but she’s loving being a great-granny because there’s the ‘great’ in front of it!” Mum-of-five Louise also joked about how she had pulled a fast one on her husband Peter – Kimberley’s dad – before he was told there would be a new addition to the family.

She laughed, “It was the day before Kimberley’s 18th that she found out she was pregnant.

“I took Kimberley’s test, showed it to him and said I was pregnant – he nearly had a heart attack!

“He was a bit off his head! Then we told him it was Kimberley who was pregnant and he said ‘OK, I can deal with that!’”
