CHILDREN from Kelty enjoyed a very special treat during World Book Day-a visit from 6ft furry dog Badger the Mystical Mutt, who is the star of a series of illustrated children’s books for 5 to 9 year-olds, and he was delighted to come to Fife, live and in the fur, for a whistle stop tour of Libraries.
He visited Kelty Library when he took part in an open family session after having been at Lochgelly Library where he met youngsters from St Patrick’s Primary. Co-author of the series, Lyn McNicol, said, “The very first book in the Badger series was designed in Dunfermline, our editor is based in Aberdour, and before I became a full-time children’s author, I free-lanced for Carnegie Hall, Rothes Halls and Adam Smith Theatre, so it feels like we’re bringing Badger home. "We were absolutely thrilled to be involved in the whistle stop tour for World Book Day.” And Badger the Mystical Mutt said, “It was great fun. I was so pleased the Big Folk have packed lots of higgledy piggledy towers of toast for me, as I needed lots of stamina!”
