AS part of the training process a supervised patrol of the CLoCK Street Pastors took place last Friday night, and for the first time Kelty was covered by one of the teams.

In total there were fourteen street pastors who patrolled in the three communities, and were warmly welcomed by everyone on the streets. The chairman of the CLoCK Streets Pastors committee, Rev Jon Magee, said, “There were many young people who were happy to chat with the Street Pastors.

“The Street Pastors were encouraged that they had good conversations with people as they begin to listen and to get to know how we can help them and care for them on the streets. “It was also encouraging to find some who remembered the Street Pastors from their previous supervised patrol earlier in the month.” He added, “The training is progressing very well, and the community can look forward to the Commissioning Service in about a month or so when 10 street pastors will have completed their training and becommissioned by their local churches.” Rev Magee added, “We are part of a national team first pioneered in 2003, and Street Pastors continues to grow throughout the UK and across the world”. CLOCK Street Pastors was launched in October 2014 and are trained volunteers from local churches who care about the community and are there to care for, listen to and help people who are out on the streets.
