SNP candidate Roger Mullin chose Kelty last week for his first public engagement since being selected for the Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath constituency.

Roger was there at the invitation of the Yes Kelty group and he said, “We had a great session; a two hour conversation about Scottish politics and about specific issues such as fracking, welfare, economics and the movement for home rule.” Yes Kelty brings together people from a number of political parties and some with no party affiliation, all of whom campaigned for a Yes vote in the recent Referendum. The packed meeting agreed that they would support Roger Mullin at the coming General Election.

Roger said, “It is important to recognise that we need to elect MPs who will stand up for our local community and for Scotland. We need many SNP MPs to ensure the promises for more powers for Scotland don’t become mere hollow words. It was that concern to get a strong voice that I think was a key in the meeting agreeing to support my candidature, including those who are not in the SNP.”
