A KELTY teenager could take more than SIX years to pay off £1572 in compensation – as he’ll only stump up £10 a fortnight.
On 28th May last year, Andrew Thomas Wallace (17), of Westcroft Way, smashed a window at Amies Supermarket, which had to be replaced.
Sheriff Craig McSherry imposed the compensation order on Wallace at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Wednesday – but it could be 2021 before it’s paid off as the teen will only make instalments of a tenner every two weeks.
Wallace admitted that at the convenience store, in Main Street, he acted in a racially aggravated manner which caused, or was intended to cause, alarm and distress to Perviz Ahmed by shouting, swearing, uttering racial remarks and striking a window.
Solicitor, Roshni Joshi, the Court that Wallace had not managed to gain employment and had made efforts to sign on.
