KELTY & Blairadam Novice Juvenile Band recently performed at Glasgow Green in the World Pipe Band Championships and produced a good performance. The Band were drawn in Qualifier Heat 2 to play at 9.20am and the Kelty band managed to gain a fourth place out of twelve pipe bands from all over the World. The Band subsequently qualified for the final and played again at 4pm. With another good performance the Band gained tenth place out of a 12 band Final which is a great accolade for a young Band. The average age of the Pipe Band is only 12 years-old and all the players are from Kelty, Crossgates and Cowdenbeath area with a few having been taught at Primary School level throughout the Cowdenbeath area. Their mentors, Andrew Keatings and Dusty Miller, are confident the Band will go from strength to strength.
