WITHIN the last three hours police have confirmed that a man has been charged with the murder of two-year-old Kelty toddler, Madison Horn.

Police Scotland issued a statement which read, "Following the death of a two-year-old girl, Madison Horn, a man has been charged with murder.

"The 26-year-old will be appearing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court today (Tuesday).

Police have not named the man.

Two-year-old Madison was taken to the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy following an incident at 6.30pm on Sunday night and was later pronounced dead.

Teddies and flowers were left close to the home of the toddler yesterday (Monday) including an Upsy Daisy doll attached to a fence with the message: "Heaven has gained another angel. Rest in peace little one. xxxxx".

Officers were at a house in the village's Croftangry Road throughout Monday as they investigated the death, which they described in an initial statement as "suspicious".
