SHEER drama in Kelty on Saturday as the village's Hearts team captured the East of Scotland League title which has opened the door for the chance of moving up to the Lowland League in the Scottish Professional Football League's pyramid structure.

On a lovely sunny day the Hearts needed to beat Lothian Thistle, who had taken over at the top of the table the previous weekend by beating Kelty to win the title and the occasion attracted a crowd of around 1,400 to New Central Park.

Hearts led for most of the game but with Lothian just needing a point to pip the local side for the silverware, it was tense stuff going into the last ten minutes with Kelty 2-1 up.

Then in time added on Scott Taylor-McKenzie hit a fantastic shot to tie up the game and the celebrations really began!

So now Kelty face Threave Rovers this Saturday in the Borders in first leg of the Lowland League play-off as the drama continues for Hearts.
