KELTY Community Council will be holding a memorial service for the 60th anniversary of the Lindsay Colliery Disaster.
On December 14, 1957, nine men lost their lives and thirty were injured in an underground explosion.
The organisers of the event would like to invite ex-miners, who worked in the Lindsay Pit and have moved away or did not live in Kelty, to join with the local community in this service of remembrance.
The service will be held at 7pm on December 15 at Kelty Community Centre.
A spokesperson for Kelty Community Council said: "It would help the organisers in planning the service, if you could let us know if you will be attending, however, this is not essential. The Community Council can be contacted at keltycommunitycouncil@gmail.com or 01383 831411."
