THE workmates of a Kelty man held a big event at Lochgelly Golf Club to make his retirement.

A group of former work colleagues gathered at Lochgelly Golf Club to mark the retirement of man Rab Smith.

The weather was kind to the golfers on the day and everyone who attended enjoyed themselves.

Mr Smith's wife Izzie kept the group suitably refreshed during the day's play by providing drinks from the "Beer Buggy".

The golf competition was followed by a meal and prizegiving in the clubhouse..

Winner on the day was James Barnes, from Bonnyrigg, who collected the trophy and a first prize of a 4 ball at Scotscraig Golf Club.

Said one of Rab's colleagues, Richard Scott: "To celebrate Rab's birthday he was presented with (tongue in cheek) a dinosaur birthday cake which caused a bit of hilarity with the group.

"A collection was made on the day and funds raised went to charity. Such was the success of the day that it is planned to make it an annual event".
