SATURDAY is gala day in Kelty and the committee is hopeful of the same sort of summer's day they were blessed with last year.

The 2015 parade and park activities saw the sun high in the sky and it meant that things were perfect.

The forecast for Saturday is not bad at all and it should ensure that it is a good day for the village.

Last year Kelty Hearts had just won the East Super League and the players were acclaimed as the entered the parade to display the trophy and while the 2015-2016 was not just quite as successful they still had a good season by finishing runners-up.

The parade will be a good one if the weather, as forecasts suggest, is a decent one.

The youngsters from the two St Joseph's and Kelty Primary Schools will march down from Cocklaw Street to the park and will be joined by a whole volume of walkers and bands and new MSP, Annabelle Ewing, will be among them.

There will be a number of bands taking part to add to the occasion and the organisers are hoping that many people from the village will join in.

At the park a who host of fun packed activities will be taking place which will keep the expected huge crowd having a lot of fun well into the afternoon.

All in all a big day in Kelty can be expected.
