KELTY Musical Association's cast are looking forward to being part of the West Fife Premiere of “Sunshine on Leith”.

Based on the songs of Fife's most famous twins, The Proclaimers (Craig and Charlie Reid), audiences will already be familiar with many of the hit songs within the show, such as “I'm On My Way” and “Letter From America”.

Originally conceived as a show in 2007 at Dundee Rep, many folk will have seen the recent film which was mainly shot in Edinburgh.

The show tells of two young men, Davy and Ally, who return to Leith after serving in the army in Afghanistan. They had only signed up due to the unemployment problems in Edinburgh. Will their return offer them any better opportunities, or will they be doomed to a dead end job in a call centre?

In common with most shows, there is romance, but don't expect sequins, feathers and lines of tap dancing ladies in this show. Instead there are plenty of big numbers involving the entire cast, mixed with broad Scots humour and lots of genuine emotion.

Kelty Musical Association has been entertaining for over 80 years and is renowned for the quality of its performances.

This year their regular production team of Lynne and Gary Gibb, have been joined by Peter Robinson, in his first year as Kelty Musical Director.

The show will run in The Carnegie Hall, Dunfermline from Wednesday May 4 to Saturday May 7 at 7.15pm nightly, plus a 2.15pm matinee on the Saturday.

Tickets are priced £14/£12 (concessions), however all Wednesday evening and Saturday matinee tickets are only £12 each.
