THE Community of Kelty turned out to the service of remembrance at the war memorial in Station Road.

The Reverend Hugh Steele conducted the tribute supported by Mr Hank John.

Wreaths were laid by the Armed Forces, Civil Organisations, local councillors, MSP Alex Rowley and other local organisations.

Pupils representing the two primary schools and members of the scouts and brownies placed crosses at the memorial.

Music was provided by Kelty and Blairadam Pipe and Brass bands.

Rev.Hugh Steele also led a tribute at the Lassodie war memorial for those who died in the service of their country. Wreaths were laid by Councillor Alex Campbell, WO2 Sandy Adams and Peggy Crawford.

Kelty and Blairadam Concert Band provided the music for the service.

Pipe Major Andrew Keatings played the Flowers of the Forest and Liz Malcolm sounded the Last Post and Reveille.

Councillor Alex Campbell praised Kelty Community Council for their work in organising the a day's events in the village and at Lassodie.

He said this week: "It was good now everything was organised in the village and it was tremendous the way people of all age groups turned out.

"It was also excellent the turn out both in Kelty itself and at Lassodie later in the day."
