CROSSGATES will get a glimpse of what the next five years has to hold for the village at a Community Futures Open Day in the British Legion on Sunday 30th November.

But the organisers have urged local people to ensure their voice is heard by returning outstanding household survey forms by the end of the week (Friday 13th November).

The Coalfields Regeneration Trust’s Communities Futures programme, in Crossgates and Mossgreen, provides support for local residents to research and draw up a 5-year community action plan. The CRT also provides a £20,000 participatory budget to get priority projects off the ground.

The Steering Group will use the Open Day to present the results of their household survey and stakeholders interviews and villagers will have their chance to vote for which projects share in the CRT’s £20,000 funding package.

Steering Group member Robert Arnott (pictured) said, “The Open Day is approaching fast and we need everyone who has not yet completed or returned their household survey forms to hand them in at the Post Office.

“Those who prefer to do this sort of thing online should complete the survey monkey version by going to www.coalfields-regen.org.uk/CCFsurveys, then clicking on Crossgates.  “We want to ensure that everyone’s views are included when we present the survey findings”. The Open Day runs from noon to 3pm on Sunday 30th November at the British Legion, 60 Main Street, Crossgates.

The Steering Group also want to remind eligible groups and organisations that they can still apply for a share of the CRT’s £20,000 funding support package by contacting Development Officer, Pauline Grandison on 01259 272127 or email pauline.grandison@coalfields-regen.org.uk.
