A 24 year-old man has been arrested and reported to the Procurator Fiscal following reports of damage to windows in Kinross, Cowdenbeath, Crossgates and Dunfermline which occurred between 13th and 16th August, where in excess of £6800 of damage was caused to vehicles, houses, business premises and bus shelters.

PC Barry Tillier, from the Community Team based at Cowdenbeath, who carried out enquiries stated, “As a result of excellent cross border co-operation between Fife and Tayside Divisions we identified a 24 year old Dunfermline man as being responsible.

"These wanton acts of vandalism saw damage to more than 20 windows and left, what can be reasonably described, as a trail of destruction through four towns and villages. We can only guess at the motivation behind this but the cost of repair, as well as the distress, caused to business and home owners has been considerable owing to these mindless acts. "We would like to thank members of the public who assisted us in resolving this matter as their help was invaluable. We would like to re-assure the public that Police Scotland will not tolerate anti social behaviour and will utilise all resources at our disposal to safeguard local communities from those responsible.” Anyone with any concerns or information regarding anti social behaviour can contact Police Scotland on 101 or through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
