A MAN six times over the legal limit has been arrested and charged with drink driving following a two car crash in Crossgates.

The collision happened on the B981 at around 7.25pm on Tuesday 2 January.

No-one was injured in the crash involving a Ford Fiesta and a Hyundai Coupe.

The driver of the Hyundai Coupe was breathalysed and was found to be six times over the legal limit.

The 39-year-old man appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Wednesday 3 January.

Inspector Brenda Sinclair from Fife’s Road Policing Unit said: “We have a zero tolerance policy on drink driving and it is disappointing that people continue to take risks by driving after consuming alcohol.

“There are potentially catastrophic consequences to driving whilst under the influence of alcohol and it endangers the life of all those using the road.

“I would urge all drivers to always make alternative travel arrangements when they plan to have a drink.”
