CHRISTMAS has officially come to Crossgates – with a little help from Miller Homes!

The annual festive extravaganza, organised by Crossgates Gala Committee, sees a Christmas market, children’s procession, carol singers and even a visit from Santa himself, take place around the community centre each year.

This year, however, after an issue with funding, the event received a touch of magic from leading builder Miller Homes.

After the committee raised concerns about the amount of money available to keep the event running in 2016, the homebuilder kindly offered to cover the cost of the community’s Christmas tree, allowing a tradition to continue that’s been upheld for many years.

Saturday saw crowds gather to watch the much anticipated big lights switch on.

Laura Wheatly, of Crossgates Gala Committee said: “We ran into a lot of problems this year and we were in real danger of having no tree for the village.

"Miller Homes has been extremely generous and we cannot thank them enough for saving the day.”

The money provided by Miller Homes covered the cost of the tree and also allowed for a small donation to be made to Kinross Round Table, a local organisation who help raise money for charities across Scotland.

Miller homes has several estates in the village including Regents Gat, which has a number of luxury homes available for purchase.
