A TALENTED Central Fife dance group will sprinkle their own touch of magic on Disney after successfully auditioning to perform in Paris next year.

Youngsters from Centre Stage Dance Academy, which is based in Crossgates, will travel to France and perform their own routine on stage at Disneyland Paris as it marks its 25th anniversary.

The 'Perform in the Magic' experience provides dance or performing arts schools with the opportunity to enjoy a 20 minute on-stage performance within the Disney parks, and the Centre Stage kids began preparations with a fundraising 'kicks and cartwheels' walk over the Forth Road Bridge on Sunday.

The academy's principal tutor, Louise Ferrier, said: "We had 15 dancers who auditioned and we've passed to dance at Disneyland Paris next Easter, which is exciting as it's the 25th anniversary of the park being opened. It will be our own show and the kids are absolutely ecstatic. We started the audition process in January and we had to perform three different routines, but we're going to be there. I still can't believe it; my parents took us to Disney Florida every year and I really wanted to take the kids. It's one of those dream come true moments!

"We have to fundraise to help with things like costumes for the trip so we thought that this would be a good and fun way to start!"

Centre Stage, which was opened by Louise in 2012, are based at Crossgates British Legion but also hold classes at Kelty Community Centre.

They offer a variety of classes for youngsters from 18 months and upwards, including acro dance, team performance, street dance and adult fitness classes.
