A THRIVING football team from Crossgates has been given a welcome style boost thanks to housebuilder Miller Homes.

The Crossgates Primrose squad is made up of 20 men, aged between 18 and 36 years old, who all received new football strips.

The club, who are members of the Scottish Junior Football Association and currently play in the East Region, South Division, revealed their new strips at the first game of the season last Saturday against Blackburn United.

Frazer Martin, chairman of the Primrose said: “We are absolutely thrilled with our new strips from Miller Homes. They have really given the team a boost which will hopefully signal the start of a very successful season.

“The colours of the Miller Homes logo even match our own colours which looks really smart. We want to play our best as always, so to look the part as well will hopefully help spur the team on.”

Neil Gaffney, Area Sales and Marketing Director at Miller Homes, Scotland, said: “Being able to provide the new strips for Crossgates Primrose Football Club is fantastic. They are a great local team that prides itself on teamwork, motivation and determination, something we are delighted to support.

“With the season just started, we wish them all the best of luck and hopefully see some great playing over the coming months.”

The team were photographed in their new strips at the club’s home ground Humbug Park near the Miller Regents Gate development in Crossgates.

The club has come back into action this season after being in abeyance since last November.

However, a new committee has come on aboard and the Primrose are looking good for this season.
