THOUSANDS of Fife children have signed up for this year's summer reading challenge.
It encourages 4-11 year-olds to read six books over the holidays, with rewards including 'Big Friendly Giant' themed gifts.
Around 5,000 in the Kingdom signed up - 500 more than last year.
Dunfermline & West Fife MP Douglas Chapman is encouraging people to get involved.
Said the Crossgates, Hill of Beath and Moss-side MP: "The summer reading challenge is a fun, free and educational way to keep children entertained throughout the holidays."
