PUPILS in P7 at Crossgates Primary said goodbye to the school in style with a glitzy prom evening.

The class of 24 youngsters left for the final time and will move up to Beath High after the summer break, but before the last day of term they enjoyed an evening of dancing and partying at the Royal British Legion to celebrate the end of seven years at Crossgates.

Headteacher Jackie Funnell said: "It was a super night and a great opportunity for the children to celebrate their last year with the school. "There are 24 in the class and they all met at the school, where we had a photographer taking some photos of them, and then they walked to the British Legion accompanied by members of staff. All the staff were there and the pupils had a disco.

"It was emotional and there were mixed feelings for the pupils; they were sad to be leaving our school behind but excited to be moving on to high school. We're really proud of them as they've been a credit to the school, and we are sure they are all ready to make that next step after the summer."
