THANKS to the help of the circus Cowdenbeath will be able to take on Premiership Hearts tonight (Wednesday) at Central Park.

On Friday Cowden looked to be in trouble when the groundstaff noticed that a goalpost had fractured.

They needed to get the damaged post repaired but they then found that finding a company who could weld the goal post back together was not that easy.

Said club chief executive Alex Anderson, “We were in a desperate situation with the game with Hearts due on Wednesday.

“We had a broken goalpost, and after trying other local companies to help, Kelly’ Welders came to the rescue. But then another hurdle appeared.

“They tried there own transport but the goalpost was too long and wide for their vehicle. They said if you get them to us we will do this for you straight away”.

But where now could they get transport to get the posts to Kelly’s? After trying all options with no luck the circus came up trumps.

Added Mr Anderson, “The Circus is at Central Park, so we explained the situation to them, and the response was ‘we can do this’.

“Within the hour, they had them delivered to Kelly’s Welders and returned to Central Park fully repaired”.

The chief executive concluded, “It is times like this we have to thank all local companies who are there to help us, too many to mention, but thanks to them they helped us through the difficult time.” So Hearts can come and take on Cowdenbeath at Central Park thanks to the circus people.
