A STAGECOACH bus driver from the Cowdenbeath garage was among the front runners in the company’s driver of the year competition.
Dunfermline depot’s, Brian Mackie, has been awarded the ‘Driver of the Year’ award at this year’s Bus Driver Of The Year competition within East Scotland but Izzelle Shaw, from Cowdenbeath garage took third place.
A number of Stagecoach East Scotland’s best drivers took part in the annual contest on Sunday 21st June. Proving their driving skills with a short drive around Kirkcaldy, the drivers then completed a special theory test, which included questions on road safety and hazard awareness. Second place went to Lee Holmes, also from Dunfermline depot.
Andrew Jarvis, Managing Director, Stagecoach East Scotland said, “Many of our drivers across East Scotland consistently surpass our expectations in their day-to-day duties and it’s great that their efforts can be rewarded.”
