THE Central Fife Crime Prevention and Community Safety Panel is to visit all the community councils in the Cowdenbeath-Lochgelly area over the coming few months.
Thursday’s panel meeting heard that in March members had visited Cardenden Community Council, to give a presentation of the work that they do, and the feed-back had been extremely encouraging.
Panel member, Dave Roy said, “The community council members were interested by the various initiatives we have been involved with and some are keen to help promote community safety.” Indeed, during the meeting the panel agreed to make arrangements to go around the district and at the same time try to encourage anyone interested in the work being done by the organisation, to consider becoming a member of the panel.
Chairman Lenny Linton said, “We see speaking to the community councils as an important part of liaising with the people of our towns and villages and if we can interest people to join us then all the better.”
