A COWDENBEATH company has received a major accolade in the Fife Business Awards and two Ballingry companies have also been successful.

The category winners were revealed in front of over 300 guests at the glittering Fife Business Awards 2015 ceremony, in Glenrothes. And the 11 category winners were also joined by Score Europe, from Woodend, who were awarded the Outstanding Business Achievement award.

The success through Innovation Award, sponsored by Fife Chamber of Commerce, was won won by Peel Tech Limited, from Ballingry; and the success through Sustainability Award, sponsored by Green Business Fife, was captured by Ivan Wood & Sons Ltd.

It has been a good few months for Score. In August they opened their new factory extension in Cowdenbeath and have continued to be at the forefront of supplying equipment for the oil and gas industry from their Woodend and Glenrothes sites.

Score Group plc operates worldwide providing engineering services across five continents within a range of sectors which include oil and gas, nuclear and marine. The Score Group of companies primarily provide services related to valves and industrial gas turbines in addition to training, specialist coatings and cell disruptors.

Peel Tech is a revolutionary new innovative filteration system which complies with the new SEPA 2014/2016 Act regarding drainage pollution. The Peel Tech system fully complies with the Act and can help recycle all waste and keep drains unblocked and helps reduce odours.

Ivan Wood & Sons was established in 1970, a family run business that has continued to grow and move into the millenium with a dedication to supply and quality service for the customer.

The company currently employs 30 fully trained staff to meet the requirements of some of the most prestigious hotels and restaurants throughout Scotland.

The event, hosted by comedian, Fred MacAulay, was once again a grand celebration of Fife’s diverse and successful business community with the variety of entrants showcasing the area’s broad range of business prowess.

The awards attracted an extremely high quality of entries with thirty three companies from across the region shortlisted by the judging panels. The panels were made up of experts from within the Fife business community who then received presentations from each shortlisted business before deciding upon the winners. Stephen Doran, Chairman of the Fife Economy Partnership, said, “We were overwhelmed by the response to the awards with a record number of entries.

“The judges had a tough task selecting winners for each of the eleven categories, but what this shows is that Fife has much to be proud of, with so many businesses each playing an important role in the local economy.” Fife Chamber President, John Silcock said, “I would like to congratulate everyone who entered not just the finalists and winners.

“The Chamber is proud to be associated with such outstanding companies. These awards recognise the range and quality of businesses that we are fortunate to have here in Fife.

“The event would also not have been possible without the support of our sponsors and I would like to thank them for their commitment to this event and we look forward to seeing everyone again at the next Fife Business Awards!”
