A BRAND new Marie Curie Cancer Care shop will be officially opened in Cowdenbeath on Friday.

Head of Shops at Marie Curie, Alec Barclay and Marie Curie Health Care Assistant, Michelle Carroll, will cut the ribbon at 35 High Street, and welcome customers in to the shop at 11am.

The new Marie Curie shop will raise funds to support Marie Curie Nurses, who work in the local community and make it possible for terminally ill people to spend their final days at home.

Alec Barclay said, “We are delighted to be trading in Cowdenbeath and I am extremely thankful to all our hard working staff and volunteers who have rallied round to get the new shop up and running. I hope people will pop by our fantastic new shop, meet the team and have a look through our wide range of high quality items at really great prices. Every purchase will help Marie Curie Nurses care for more people with terminal illnesses who wish to spend their final days at home.” Staff and volunteers will gratefully receive any unwanted clothing, books and bric-a-brac – and don’t forget to ask how to make even more of your donation through Gift Aid. If you are interested in volunteering at the shop please call Area Manager Ann-Marie Strang on 01383 510234.
