LIGHTS camera action! Cowdenbeath is launching its own community cinema on Saturday 1st November at the Pit Road Leisure Centre from three in the afternoon.

Family films will be shown at the leisure centre, in Cowdenbeath, on the run-up to Christmas, starting on Saturday with a Halloween themed film the latest Disney release, Maleficent.

The films will be priced at £2 for children and £1 for adults, this compares very favourably to cinema prices. Trips to the cinema can be very expensive for families and it is hoped that this will bring people out to do an affordable thing together as a family as well as spending some time within the town centre.

Over the eight week programme the film programme aimed at the under 10’s will show, The Lego Movie, Toy Story 3, Mr Peabody & Sherman, Brave, Frozen (Sing Along), Muppets Most Wanted and Arthur Christmas.

The showing of Frozen ties in with Santa coming to town and the switching on of the Christmas lights. It is hoped that people will enter into the spirit of the films dressing up for the Halloween film, wearing tartan for Brave and tinsel and Santa hats for the Christmas films.
