A NEW Drama Group is being set up in Cowdenbeath to give local acting talent the chance to develop.

The venture is starting with a ‘Play in A Day’ session at the Broad Street Centre (pictured) on Thursday 23rd October.

Starting at 1pm and finishing early evening, the Play in A Day session is geared to giving participants a demonstration of the roles that have been practiced during the day.

Cowdenbeath Rotary Club is backing the initiative and former president, Tom Taylor, has been playing a role in promoting the drama group, and said, “Following on from this day it is planned that the Drama Group will commence meeting for two hour evening sessions every week through to the start of the schools’ summer holidays next year.

“To register your interest contact Jacqueline Johnstone by phone on 01383 602470 or email jacqueline.johnstone@fife.gov.uk and come along on the day.” Local youth leaders are involved with the planning of the drama group and particular guidance is being given by Claire Bloomfield, who is a local experienced expert in the field.

The Rotary Club has agreed to the funding of the drama group under Rotary International’s ‘We’re for Communities’ commitment to assisting local communities and activities.
