ORGANISATIONS from all over Fife, including the Cowdenbeath-Lochgelly area, are benefiting from some unexpected money this month with National Lottery funding that is coming to the area.
Schools in particular are set for a welcome boost from the Awards for All Scotland grants, with the money going towards sports initiatives which will support and encourage children attending clubs.
The Fife Schools Badminton Association received £9350 in order to buy new equipment and train volunteers, while the Fife Schools Football Association will put their £1100 towards specialised training and allowing more children to attend inter-school competitions throughout Fife.
Awards for All Scotland rewards projects that bring communities together to enjoy a range of activities, and has distributed almost £1.7m across 245 community groups in Scotland.
