BEATH High School S3 Food Design pupils, as part of their course, completed an enterprise activity, designing, manufacturing and marketing products.
Three classes undertook activities, a Christmas Fayre, Valentine’s Day, and finally lunch-time snacks for both staff and pupils.
Individually pupils had to design, manufacture and market cup cakes.
A total of £600.09 was raised for Cancer Research (Scotland).
Also, in a cross curricular activity with music, pupils provided entertainment and hospitality for thirty visitors from Fife Society for the Blind. Everyone fully enjoyed the music and catering.
Recently the department also held Masterchef competitions for both staff and pupils.
Pupil winners were as follows, S1: Soup Off - Alice Henderson; S2: Pasta Off – Samantha Bradley; S3: Bake Off – Kathryn McDougall.
The staff Masterchef competition, turned the educational tables, with pupils marking staff, using their course knowledge and skills.
All year groups were involved in the marking of staff from a variety of subject areas, including Mr Douglas Young, the Rector.
Science teacher Mr Blanchflower was the eventual winner in this pressure cooker of a competition!
