COWDENBEATH para-bowler Billy Allan has agonisingly missed out on a medal at the Commonwealth Games after losing out in a bronze medal match this morning (Thursday).
The Cowdenbeath Bowling Club member, of Foulford Street, competed alongside Kevin Wallace and Michael Simpson in the B6/B7/B8 Open Triples event at Kelvingrove and the trio won all three of their group matches.
That saw them into a semi-final clash with New Zealand yesterday (Wednesday) but after suffering a 13-9 defeat, they faced England for a bronze medal.
After beating the Auld Enemy in their final group match, the Scots had high hopes of taking bronze but they lost a competitive match 16-12 to miss out on a podium place.
