Five arrested following drugs raids
Police seized drugs worth £3000 and arrested five people following three raids in as many days.
On Wednesday, 25th November officers recovered diamorphine and methadone from a house in Broad Street, Cowdenbeath. A 24-year-old man and 22-year-old woman were charged.
The next day police arrested a 34-year-old man after a search of a house in Denfield Avenue, Cardenden, uncovered cannabis plants.
Then on Friday, 27th November officers raided a property in Keltyhill Avenue, Kelty, and recovered cannabis resin. A 23-year-old man and 17-year-old woman were reported to the procurator fiscal.
Area Chief Inspector Ross Bennet revealed that the crackdown was sparked by tip-offs from the public.
"My officers continue to focus upon intelligence gathered from within the community regarding those involved in the misuse of drugs," he told The Times. "The three recent cases reveal that wherever such illegal activity is made known to us, we will take tough action to detect and report those involved.
"I would urge residents to continue to share information with the police by calling 0845 600 5702 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111," he added.
