Early indications suggest that Fife pupils' exam results are some of the best since records began.
After appeals it is likely that S5 results will be the best for over five years while Advanced Higher results may be the best since courses started in Fife.
206 youngsters achieved straight As in their Higher exams and 129 candidates achieved straight 1s at Standard Grade.
Head of Education, Craig Munro, said, "We have not yet received national comparator data from the Scottish Government and the results should improve even further after the appeals process...overall we believe that this year's results are the best we have had for a long time."
In S4, the SCQF level 3 (Foundation/Access) pass rate was 90%; SCQF level 4 (General/Intermediate 1) the pass rate was 74% and SCQF level 5 (Credit, Intermediate 2) the pass rate increased further to 31%.
The Higher exam results have improved on last year at one or more Higher by a further 1%. For three or more exams passed at Higher level this year's performance is up by 1.3% and a further slight increase was achieved in the number of young people achieving passes in five Highers.
Cllr Douglas Chapman, Chair of the Education and Children's Services Committee, said, "The excellent results reflect well on the pupils."
Pupils who haven't received the results they were expecting can call the SQA Candidate Advice Line on 0845 278 8080 or the Careers Scotland One Life Helpline on 0808 100 8000.
